Superior North Program

Hello Teachers and student leaders

There is a very exciting program and and a great opportunity planned for a few of your student leaders in May. The program is in partnership with the Superior Catholic District School Board. This board only has elementary students many of which are First Nation. The purpose of this leadership program is to continue to build relationships and community with our friends from the north.

From May 15 to 19th, TCDSB will be sending a leadership team including 15 secondary student leaders to share leadership activities and programs with the elementary schools in SCDSB. In return, the SNCDSB team will build relationships by providing cultural and leadership program activities including first nation dance, music, adventuous hiking, speakers on the Truth and Reconcilliation report and other topics.

Accomodation will be at a lakeside resort in comfortable cabins.The team will fly into Thunder Bay and be met by the delegates from SCDSB. The cost of the program to each delegate is $650. This includes flight, transportation, food and accomodation. My request to you at this time is to ask if you would recruit at least 2 student leaders who might be interested in this program to attend an information meeting tomorrow evening Thursday March 31st) at 7pm at the CEC.

Parents are encouraged to attend as well.

My apologies for the short notice but I leave for Tanzania Saturday and we are hoping to be well on our way in selecting the team before I depart.
